Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking tray with butter or line it with parchment paper.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
Add the brown sugar to the melted butter and stir until smooth.
Stir in the golden syrup until everything is well combined.
Remove the saucepan from heat and add the rolled oats. Mix until all oats are coated.
Optionally, add raisins or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking tray and spread it evenly.
Press the mixture down gently with the back of a spoon to create an even surface.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the flapjacks turn golden brown.
Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool in the tray for a few minutes.
While still slightly soft, cut the flapjacks into squares or rectangles using a sharp knife.
Allow the flapjacks to cool completely in the tray before removing them.
Serve and enjoy the delicious flapjacks with a cup of tea or as a delightful snack anytime!
